Goolwa Boat Haven is a private marina on the Murray River, featuring 3 self-contained studios each with decks overlooking the marina. Watching the boats rock gently on the water is soothing at any time of the day, and the gentle clinking of rigging on masts lulls one to sleep at night. These stylish studios are a wonderful getaway for relaxation and romance. Two of the studios accommodate one couple each, and a third studio has the capacity for an extra adult or up to two children. For those cruising the river by boat, Goolwa Boat Haven provides safe moorings for your vessel with an easy access jetty. Your boat will be secure and located within a few minutes of the Goolwa Town Centre, with the convenience of onshore bathroom facilities and BBQ. Kayaks and bicycles are available for your use.
Goolwa is a river town located at the mouth of the Murray River on Lake Alexandrina, an hour's drive south of Adelaide and just 19 km from Victor Harbour. Explore the historic wharf and enjoy a paddle steamer cruise down the river, or visit the beautiful Coorong National Park with its high sand dune formations facing the Southern Ocean and long, narrow wetland system connecting to the lower Murray River and Lakes area, rich with migratory birds, water fowl and waders. There are several historic buildings in Goolwa, you can take in an ale on the sundeck at the Steam Exchange Brewery, or visit the South Coast Regional Arts Centre in what used to be the police station and court house, circa 1850. Take a ride on the Cockle Train around Encounter Bay to Victor Harbor with views of the seaside along the way.

Studios 1 and 2 are built right on the jetty over the water with views across the river. The Studio rooms feature one big room with a queen size bed, kitchenette and ensuite. Cooking facilities include microwave and hotplate. The third Family Studio is larger and a little set back from the water. It features one big room with queen size bed, sofa lounge, ensuite and kitchenette with hotplate. Each studio is air conditioned and has an electric BBQ on the private deck and all are on one level and wheelchair accessible. A hairdryer and bathroom amenities are provided.

Idyllic charm. My husband and I spent the Australia Day long weekend, 3 nights, staying at the Goolwa Boat Haven. The location is perfect and the studios are modern, very clean and well equipped. Our studio was located right on the water with fabulous views and a very calming effect. A great place to chill out and rejuvenate! On Sunday there was a Yacht regatta, beautiful watching the yachts sail by. It is also within walking distance to the town and the many cafes and restaurants. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed!

This tranquil and beautifully maintained accommodation is one we will continue to frequent. Come and go as you please, but with the security of gated entrance. The rooms are self contained and well appointed with facilities for cooking if you desire. There are bikes and kayaks available to explore the area, a bbq and outdoor eating area to relax in whilst overlooking the beautiful river boats. Two of the three studios we have stayed in were immaculately presented, beautifully decorated, extremely clean and had a bottle of wine waiting for us on arrival. Cannot recommend this accommodation enough! See you again soon...

Relaxing riverside retreat. We stayed at the boat haven for 2 nights. It was everything we had seen online and a lot more. Very comfortable and well run accommodation, Esther could not have been more helpful. We kayaked up the river on a beautiful blue sky day and had great views of birdlife and river comings and goings. There are some quality places to eat, Hectors and Bombora we thoroughly enjoyed, fresh seafood and fine surroundings. A great place with a slow pace, perfect! Thank you very much.
