The Clare Valley is one of Australia's premium wine producing areas, internationally renowned for the quality of the Riesling wines it produces. Just over the road you can hire a mountain bike, a tandem or a retro cruiser, or even an electric bike. So pack a hamper, grab your bike and set off for a day of adventure, winding through the picturesque Clare Valley wine region, on one of the first rail-trails to be developed in South Australia. The trail runs for 35 kilometres from Auburn to Clare and onto Barinia, past many cellar doors and other visitor attractions, along three loop trails. Discover the many attractions of Clare, from gift shops to cafes, galleries to gardens, there's so much to see.

Rose Cottage, Violet Cottage & Daisy Cottage

Rose, Violet and Daisy Cottages are set amongst beautiful gardens, perfect for one couple or up to three couples who want to socialise and enjoy their privacy at the same time. A beautiful retreat, each cottage is uniquely decorated and features a romantic wood fire and a double spa to relax in and soothe your tired muscles. Locally hand-made soaps are provided and fresh towels on a heated towel rail. At night drift off to sleep in the comfortable queen size bed, draped in quality linens and a beautiful hand-made quilt. You'll find your generous breakfast provisions in the kitchenette, and for lunch or dinner you're just a short walk along the Riesling Trail from many of Clare's fine restaurants. Or if you prefer, you can cook up a feast on the barbecue in the garden, a perfect place to finish the day or enjoy a glass of wine and read a book under the trees.

Iris Cottage & Lily Cottage

Iris and Lily Cottages are a perfect getaway for one or two couples travelling together; you can enjoy the privacy of your own cottage or the company of your friends, whenever you want. There's a covered outdoor area with a barbecue and comfortable outdoor setting to share, making it the perfect place to start or finish your day. Enjoy a glass of wine on the lawn, or in the gazebo, before dining out at one of Clare's fine restaurants, easy walking distance from your front door. Enjoy a soak in the two person spa. Each cottage is also an ideal getaway for one couple, a refuge from the hustle and bustle of life. Hutt River Cottage

Tucked away between the Hutt River and the Riesling Trail in peaceful secluded surrounds, this warm and welcoming cottage sits amongst beautiful gardens with private access to the Riesling Trail. Built in the 1990s and extensively renovated in 2003, Hutt River Cottage is a delightful two bedroom cottage that provides every comfort you need. Ideal for one or two couples, this cottage is the perfect base to explore the surrounding area from, or a perfect retreat if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Choose between the Riesling Trail on your doorstep, numerous cellar doors and excellent restaurants all within easy walking or biking distance... or just while away the day as you enjoy the weather in the garden, or cuddle up in front of the wood fire. For some extra indulgence take a soak in the spa, and enjoy a little pampering with hand made soaps.

Donnybrook Cottage

Built in 1860, Donnybrook Cottage is the oldest cottage, but was extensively renovated in 2003, which means you can enjoy the character of the old with the comfort of the new. Between the Hutt River and the Riesling Trail, and overlooking bush clad hills, this peaceful cottage can comfortably sleep at least 6 people. You'll feel right at home with big couches for relaxing in and a romantic wood fire to warm you on cooler evenings. The dining area overlooks the Hutt River across a grove of old apple trees, and the kitchen has everything you need, including breakfast provisions. There are two comfy queen size beds and a double to choose from. Pop the cork and take time to enjoy the double spa.
