Stay in a sweet chalet at Heimat Chalets, on 100 acres of picturesque farmland in the heart of Derwent Valley, north west of Hobart. This gorgeous little hideaway with 2 bedrooms was built locally, and is located on a farmstay property with many animals such as friendly alpacas, sheep, cows, a miniature donkey and goats. Cook sausages in the very rustic communal BBQ hut, while you enjoy a glass of chilled wine, or a couple of lagers.

There is much to see and do around New Norfolk, Tasmania's antique capital. Try some seasonal trout fishing - permit required - or visit the nearby Salmon Ponds, a heritage trout hatchery, gardens and museum. Take some cooking classes at The Agrarian Kitchen, a sustainable farm based cooking school. Take a whiskey tour at the nearby Redlands Estate. Visit Russell Falls or the fabulous Styx Forest, and see the tallest trees on earth.

Upstairs is a bedroom with a king size bed and downstairs has a queen. Fully air-conditioned. There is a wonderful BBQ facility for use by all guests, with a cosy log fire for chilly evenings..
